28/08/2009 : CLUB EVERTON IS AFL CLUB OF THE YEAR FOR 2009.
We are happy to announce that the club has been awarded the trophy as Amateur Football League club of the year for 2009. The presentation was made to our Hon. Secretary at a recent management meeting of the league. At the event the AFL Hon. Secretary, Mr. Kennelly, explained that the winner is arrived at on the basis of attitude to the game of football and the league, also the sense of sportsmanship involved over the period on behalf of recipients. Referees reports and comments by fellow clubs are taken into consideration.
The trophy has been in presentation for the past eight seasons now and this is the first time we have had the honour of receiving it.
The Hon. Secretary would like to remind all members that they have had a major part in the achievement and would like to thank them for their input. Without lessening the value of the effort we hope that we may now follow it up with some success on the pitch this coming season. Tus maith leath an obair!

28/07/2009 : CLUB WIN FIRST FRIENDLY OF PRE SEASON
The first full friendly game of the pre season took place at home, against newly formed AFC Bohemians, a south-side club, on Monday 27th. July.
The game proved to be an entertaining and spirited affair, which gave our coaches an opportunity to test our new talent and positional situations.
At half time both goalies held clean sheets, but with about ten minutes gone, Wayne McDonald put an end to the stalemate with a stunning goal from a free kick. These were then followed a little later by a goal from team captain, Noel Noonan and another from Darren Holt, to secure the victory. Our own 'keeper. Conor Whelan maintained his status quo to the end,

28/07/2009 : BATTLE OF CLONTARF, 1914-2009. . .
The club team participated in this year's Clontarf promotion, the Battle of Clontarf, with good results. In our first game versus Clontarf's own new team we ran out wnners 2-1.
The second game was against the home clubs regular team and this came to a one-all draw.
This left us to beat the favourite club, St. Declans (UCL Div 1) to go through to the final. Declans proved worth their favoured tag and managed to hold out for a draw, despite several stern efforts on the part of our forward line. They then went on the win the battle sword in a final which went to penalties.
